Anyway, back to my write up - A Flock of Seagulls took their name from Richard Bach's inspirational best-selling book "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", hairdressers-turned-new-wave-synth-rockers 'A Flock Of Seagulls' were one of the most visually eclectic of the futurist new age groups although in the spirit of the period, they were often criticised by the music press for looking ridiculous.However, funny thick-rimmed glasses and ex-hairdresser Mike Score's Henna-sprayed bleach blonde locks did make their videos hard to miss and they initially achieved fame in America through the fast-growing promotional MTV. Lead singer Mike Score (better known for his sloping haircut than his singing) said that the actual video was cheaply done and only took a few hours to film.However, it's such a great song and to this day I never seem to get sick of it. It's a great music video, because it illustrates the point that you don't need millions of dollars to make a very effective music video (try telling that to P. I saw A Flock of Seagull's "I Ran" on the list, so naturally I had to buy it.
